Supercomputer predicts result of West Brom vs Oxford United
West Brom return to The Hawthorns on Saturday where Ryan Mason’s job could be on the line.
West Brom’s 1-0 loss to Charlton on 4 November has sent fans into chaos, with scrutiny building around Mason‘s future already.
Pressure is increasing on Mason to turn things around, with the Baggies currently sat 14th in the Championship table.
Up next for them is a home match against struggling Oxford United, and a win is necessary if they want to get their play-off hopes back on track.

West Brom predicted as favourites to beat Oxford United
Oxford come into the match having lost 3-0 to Stoke on Tuesday, and they sit 19th in the table under the management of Gary Rowett.
According to Opta‘s supercomputer, West Brom will finally end their four match winless run.
- West Brom have been given a 51.5 per cent chance of claiming all three points
- Oxford have a 23.8 per cent chance of securing their third away win of the season
- A draw has been given a 24.7 per cent probability of occurring
West Brom’s 0-0 draw to Sheffield Wednesday highlighted their inability to create chances against teams who sit back, and Mason will have to get it tactically spot on against Oxford.
Mason will need to get his strike force firing against one of the worst defences in the league, and based on current evidence, that seems incredibly unlikely.
West Brom beat Oxford 2-0 in their last meeting at The Hawthorns, and it’s imperative that they secure another victory against their opposition on Saturday.
It’s clear that the Baggies come into this match expected to stop their dreadful run of results, and they play a team whom they have a historically good record against.
West Brom can continue promising record against Oxford United
West Brom were expected to finish in the top six, and they must secure all three points against a side they haven’t lost to since 1998.
Granted, West Brom and Oxford have only played each other 25 times in their history, with the Baggies winning 13 of those meetings.
In their last four meetings, they have secured three wins and a draw, and this match comes at a perfect time for Mason’s side.
Oxford have won two of their last four matches on the road, and despite their woes this season, they could still pose a threat to Mason’s underperforming side.
