Ryan Mason to place arm round Isaac Price as West Brom star faces new criticism
Isaac Price has been given nowhere to hide after missing several big chances for Northern Ireland on Monday evening.
The West Brom midfielder played for his country in a 1-0 win over Luxembourg in the World Cup qualifiers, but has faced criticism for his performance.
Price didn’t impress in the recent defeat against Slovakia, and West Brom will now be fearful that their star man is coming back to The Hawthorns in bad form.
Ryan Mason will know how important Price is for the Black Country Club, and won’t like hearing the latest comments surrounding his playmaker.

Isaac Price missed two big last-minute chances for Northern Ireland
Due to their success in the Nations League, Northern Ireland still have a chance of reaching the 2026 World Cup through the upcoming play-off matches.
Price has performed better for his country than at West Brom in recent games, so for Baggies fans to hear he’s not performing well while away from The Hawthorns will be concerning.
- Price played 90 minutes
- He completed five dribbles (most in the match)
- Price missed two big chances
National media across Northern Ireland reacted to Price’s performance and jumped on the opportunities that he missed.
The Belfast Telegraph said alongside a 6/10 rating: “Price was lively early on and saw his effort go straight down the throat of Anthony Moris. Covers a lot of ground but didn’t produce a lethal finish. Unable to bury two chances late on.”
Belfast Live then added: “Price then made a hash of a golden opportunity deep into stoppage time, scooping the ball over after substitute Patrick Kelly squared it to him in the area.”
On BBC Sport, fan ratings had Price as a 6.41/10 as the broadcast corporation said: “Isaac Price’s pair of tame efforts in the final minutes was the closest either side came to finding a second-half goal.”

After receiving criticism for his missed chances, Price also had a Sofascore rating of 6.8, which ultimately reflects his underwhelming display.

Ryan Mason needs to put his arm around Price
Mason lacks experience as a head coach of a football club. However, he does have experience with managing young players through his time as an academy coach.
Price is still only 22, and with time, he will most likely end up in the Premier League one way or another.
| Games | Goals | Assists |
| 16 | 5 | 3 |
West Brom lack threat in front of goal, and face one of the best defences in the Championship next in Coventry, where they may need some moments of magic.
Mason needs to put his arm around Price and remind him of what he’s capable of.
Price has magic in his boots, and when he’s on top form, there aren’t many better in the division, and hopefully, that is on show against Coventry.
