Coventry vs West Brom team news – Ryan Mason drops George Campbell injury update
Ryan Mason has confirmed that George Campbell has returned to training ahead of West Brom’s away clash with Coventry.
It is an insanely difficult fixture for the Baggies on Saturday, as they travel to the side that is comfortably top of the Championship.
Ryan Mason was under pressure at West Brom before the international break, with the 2-1 victory over Oxford United easing sack calls.
Up against Coventry next, a defeat is widely expected, as Frank Lampard’s side aim to return to the Premier League.
However, West Brom have received a boost ahead of the match, with Campbell closing in on a return.

Ryan Mason ‘optimistic’ about George Campbell’s return
Campbell has been out of action for West Brom for three matches.
The defender had become a vital cog in Mason’s side since his transfer to The Hawthorns in the summer.
Now, ahead of the Coventry, Mason admitted he was “optimistic” about Campbell’s return, while also confirming that Jed Wallace is out for the Coventry match.
- Campbell has played 12 games for West Brom since signing in the summer
- However, the centre-back has been out for the past three matches
- Now, Campbell could play a part against Coventry after returning to training
“Jed certainly is out,” Mason said in his press conference on 21 November to the Express and Star. “George has returned to training so we’re optimistic that in the coming games hopefully he can contribute and help us.
“He (Wallace) has been out for a period of time and he’s not training with a group yet. So I think when you have that number of weeks out, it’s going to take a bit of time to build him back up.”

The Baggies have no other concerns, with Jayson Molumby, Chris Mepham and Toby Collyer back in contention, with the former two stars playing for their nations during the international break.

Jack Rudoni back in contention for Coventry
For Coventry, Lampard has confirmed that Jack Rudoni could be in line to play against the Baggies.
The attacking midfielder has missed his last nine matches with a calf strain, but is now back in training.
Rudoni is in contention for the West Brom match, and it remains to be seen if Lampard will risk him.
Ephron Mason-Clark is also fit after recovering from a head blow after scoring the winner against Stoke City a fortnight ago.
