Tammer Bany could be finished at West Brom already after new whispers emerge

West Brom finally picked up an impressive win in the Championship against Sheffield United on Friday evening.

West Brom beat Sheffield United 2-0 at The Hawthorns, with everybody chipping in to pick up a much-needed three points.

Ryan Mason was under severe threat of the sack before kick-off, yet goals from Aune Heggebo and Karlan Grant left a resurgent Blades scrambling.

It was a solid evening of work for everyone, except Tammer Bany.

Why was Tammer Bany missing from West Brom win vs Sheffield United?

The official answer from West Brom was illness, but there’s a lot more to the story, it seems.

Chris Lepkowski responded to a fan on social media who had claimed to have heard whispers that question marks were surrounding his ability since signing for the Albion.

The former head of media at West Brom admits he has heard similar, although that had nothing to do with his absence against Sheffield United.

Lepkowski wrote: “Think he’s ill, but yeah… I hear similar.”

Tammer Bany at West Brom in numbers

Bany signed for West Brom from Randers for just over £3million, and it is starting to look like more money wasted with each passing week.

With only five appearances in almost a year and 69 Championship minutes in total, it is hard to find a single positive from this move so far.

Perhaps his single assist is the only small green tick, but with Isaac Price, Mikey Johnston and Grant all doing more around him, it’s impossible to even know when he could be seen again.

As question marks around his ability start to appear, it is hard not to think that Bany is finished at The Hawthorns already.

Despite this, Bany could still play at the 2026 World Cup with Jordan, where he could get more minutes than he has for West Brom already.

That would be a turn-up for the books, but the question remains whether he will remain a Baggies player by the time he possibly boards the plane to North America next summer.
