West Brom first January transfer movement confirmed as disappointed manager speaks out
Eseosa Sule has returned to West Brom following the cancellation of the youngster’s loan deal with Motherwell.
West Brom decided to loan Sule out to the Scottish Premiership side in the summer, with hopes of the striker returning to The Hawthorns next year as an improved man.
However, the teenager’s move took a turn for the worse when he picked up a thigh injury in August, which has prevented him from making a single league appearance for the Scottish side.
West Brom are set to be busy in the January transfer window, and sales are expected too, but more eyes will turn to Andrew Nestor on what will happen next regarding Sule.
Motherwell‘s manager Jens Berthel Askou has spoken after the Nigerian’s return to the Baggies.
Jens Berthel Askou expresses disappointment on Eseosa Sule injury
Sule is highly rated at West Brom, so the way the loan deal has transpired will have left all parties feeling deflated.
The forward would have been able to adapt to the senior game in Scotland and could have even come back to West Bromwich ready for Championship football.
In an official update released on Motherwell’s club website on Thursday, it was confirmed that both West Brom and the Steelmen reached an agreement to terminate Sule’s loan contract early, as Berthel Askou spoke out.

Berthel Askou said: “We were very hopeful that when Eseosa came to us, we could nurture his talent with us. Unfortunately, he had a setback with his injury that has robbed us and him of the opportunity to thrive here.
“We know there is talent there with Eseosa, and he is a lovely young man who is full of positivity and optimism. I wish him the best for moving forward and strongly believe the future is bright for him.”
The starlet will now continue his rehabilitation with West Brom, and there will be strong hopes for another loan come the end of the January window.
What other West Brom youngsters could leave on loan in January?
Sule will be gutted that his first break in men’s football was halted due to injury, but the 19-year-old will learn a lot about himself in the process of getting back to fitness.
Luckily for Albion, they have plenty more young stars in their youth ranks that can find success in the second-half of the season with a loan away from The Hawthorns.
Ollie Bostock has been a regular in Ryan Mason’s matchday squads and even managed to make his professional debut in West Brom’s loss to Millwall in October.
The Welsh teen isn’t the only man who could leave on loan this month, as Rio Parmar is another gem that the Baggies have on their hands.
The tricky forward has been lighting it up across West Brom’s youth ranks over the years, and it would be no surprise to see plenty of League One or Two clubs in for him and Bostock.
