West Brom fans demand player saves them from League One relegation as deadline day deal finalised

West Brom have announced the loan signing of Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba from Aston Villa.

The Baggies had a relatively busy deadline day, with Jimoh-Aloba and Crystal Palace youngster Hidolo Mustapha following Max O’Leary and Danny Imray in moving to B71.

Eric Ramsay has a huge job on his hands, and he hasn’t been given the luxury of spending much money by Shilen Patel.

With Jimoh-Aloba now becoming the third player to join the Baggies midway through the season, fans have reacted positively to the news.

West Brom fans place their faith in Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba

West Brom fans were initially hesitant about Jimoh-Aloba, given that they don’t have a good track record of signing loan players from Aston Villa.

Samuel Iling-Junior has been woeful in the first half of the campaign, scoring just one goal in 24 appearances.

He now looks set to join Italian side Pisa on loan for the remainder of the season, and it’s clear that fans are happy to see him leave.

Lewis Dobbin also spent the first half of the 2024-25 season at The Hawthorns, but failed to make a memorable impact before his loan move was terminated.

However, the Baggies supporters have shown a lot of love to Jimoh-Aloba, who started his career in the academy before leaving in December 2023.

They also asked the 19-year-old midfielder to save them from relegation to League One on social media.

Several supporters also said: “Welcome back!”

Some fans also hope that Jimoh-Aloba can do a lot more than both Dobbin and Iling-Junior did in B71.

Another fan added: “Third time’s the charm.”

These are desperate times for West Brom, although they are now reunited with an incredibly exciting prospect.

Here’s why Jimoh-Aloba can be a big success at West Brom

Jimoh-Aloba made his senior debut for Villa in the 4-1 loss to Arsenal on 30 January, and it’s clear that Unai Emery has placed a lot of faith in the youngster.

However, he demonstrated exactly what he was capable of in the 3-2 win over RB Salzburg on 29 January.

He came off the bench to score the winning goal for the Villans in the 87th minute of their Europa League clash.

The players have to step up, and a 19-year-old ex-academy graduate will relish the opportunity to excel in front of the fans.

Jimoh-Aloba has all the ability to perform under Ramsay and only time will tell if he turns up for his boyhood club in a moment of need.
