Eric Ramsay has already made up his mind on failed West Brom transfer after scenes vs Stoke City

Andrew Nestor may have left West Brom following one final transfer window failure.

Eric Ramsay watched his side draw 0-0 with Stoke City in a Championship stalemate at The Hawthorns on Saturday, with the Baggies still looking destined to finish the season in a relegation scrap.

The Albion boss switched things up from the damaging 3-0 loss to Portsmouth last time out in the league, as new signing Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba made his debut against the Potters.

However, Nestor’s recent departure from West Brom may have signalled that even he knew how badly he conducted the winter transfer window.

Although Jimoh-Aloba could turn out to be a hit at The Hawthorns, Danny Imray may already be falling behind in Ramsay’s pecking order.

Eric Ramsay doesn’t trust Danny Imray amid recent developments at West Brom

West Brom signed Imray on loan from Crystal Palace until the end of the season, after the right-wing back impressed with Blackpool in the first half of the campaign.

There has been a lot of talk about Ramsay‘s system and the use of players on the right-hand side, and Imray’s arrival initially seemed to ease concerns.

But after being hooked at halftime on his debut, the Crystal Palace loanee was then benched against Stoke.

Not only that, West Brom were interested in signing Festy Ebosele on deadline day, a right-wing back who would surely have taken Imray’s place had he been signed.

The late move came after Imray’s poor debut, and given the fact that he was benched against Stoke, the Englishman may be doomed for limited minutes under Ramsay.

Ramsay isn’t done with changing things around; Imray could be given new role

Imray came on when West Brom were chasing the game against Stoke, and so he played a more advanced role.

However, against Portsmouth, he was deployed in his natural right-wing back spot, where he seemed to struggle.

It’s clear to see that whatever Ramsay is currently doing, it’s not working.

Ramsay’s record for West Brom

Usually by now, a new head coach would have started to implement his philosophy, and that’s yet to be seen at The Hawthorns under Ramsay.

But he has admitted that he may need to change things up, and that could suggest that Imray is given a spot in right midfield or right wing, further up the pitch.

But as of right now, it’s not looking good for the 22-year-old.
