Bilkul to show ruthless side as Karlan Grant reality clear at West Brom

Karlan Grant’s West Brom contract expires in the summer.

Grant signed a six-year contract with the Baggies in 2020 when he completed a £15million move from Huddersfield Town.

He is one of several Albion stars who will be available to leave The Hawthorns on a free transfer in the summer

Bilkul Football have big decisions to make, and they could set the tone with the one that they make on the 28-year-old.

What is the Karlan Grant reality at West Brom?

Grant is currently out injured with a hamstring issue and may have played his last game for the club in a brutal reality for the forward.

He has notched three goals in 23 Championship matches this season, and those numbers are not good enough to help Albion in their ambitions to stay in the division.

The ownership could show their ruthless side and show Grant the door, despite the chance that he may not get a chance to say a proper farewell to the fans.

Shilen Patel and Co have shown that they can be ruthless already

The Baggies owners have proven that they can be ruthless when it is necessary in their nearly two years in charge of the club.

Shilen Patel and Co have sold academy graduates like Alex Palmer and Tom Fellows to balance the books, despite supporters’ sentiments towards those players.

While it was essential to sell, due to the state that Guochuan Lai left the finances in, they could have sold players who fans had less of a connection with, and were not as crucial to the side.

However, perhaps their most surprising move was the one to part ways with club president Andrew Nestor just weeks ago.

The decision that they make on Grant will be a business decision, and likely come down to whether they want to pay him the amount that he will want, and that may well see him move on.

They cannot be swayed by personal feelings, they must make whatever decision is right based on sporting merit, and if he does not get a chance to show what he can do on the pitch again, then there is only one right outcome.

That is to move on, and let the veteran try to find his form again elsewhere.
