Slaven Bilic odds slashed amid latest West Brom managerial update
Slaven Bilic’s chances of becoming West Brom’s new manager seem more likely.
West Brom find themselves in a horrendous position in the Championship and the former midfielder has been linked with a return to The Hawthorns.
Albion source EyaWeGew reported on 3 March that the Baggies had made contact with Bilic regarding a temporary arrangement.
He is still very popular among the fanbase in B71, and would surely spark some life into a disgruntled and furious set of supporters.
How much have Bilic’s odds shifted?
One oddsmaker has drastically slashed the odds on the Croatian boss making a stunning comeback to the Black Country club.
Bilic was ranked at 10/1 on 26 February, considered a long shot to be handed the role after Ramsay’s dismissal.
However, he is now 6/4 second favourite behind Darren Moore (5/4), to take the role and become the permanent manager.
James Morrison (5/2), Tony Mowbray (12/1) and Sean Dyche (16/1) are the other main contenders for the post.

Carlos Corberan is still a popular figure, and he is also in the mix, albeit with odds of 25/1, which makes him an unlikely candidate.
Why Bilic and West Brom may not get done
Bilic is loved by Baggies supporters due to his near two-year stint in the dugout, where he guided Albion back to the Premier League by finishing second in the Championship after he was appointed in June 2019.
He was sacked in December 2020, with the club sitting 19th in the top-flight, with seven points from 13 matches.
Any potential deal with Bilic could fall apart as the parties are understood to have different ambitions.
Bilkul Football and Shilen Patel are understood to want a short-term contract, which would see them reassess their options in the summer.
| Stat | Bilic at West Brom |
| Won | 26 |
| Drawn | 21 |
| Lost | 18 |
| Points | 99 |
| Points per game | 1.52 |
Meanwhile, Bilic is looking for something more permanent, a longer-term arrangement along the lines of two to three years.
That could prove fatal in any attempts to convince the 57-year-old to return to the West Midlands, and leave the owners with egg on their face once again.
The club are in a dismal position in terms of leadership both on and off the pitch, and something needs to change behind the scenes in the near future.
