West Brom’s relegation odds shift drastically in new supercomputer prediction
West Brom eased relegation fears with a stunning 3-0 win over Hull City on Saturday.
James Morrison‘s side secured their first win of 2026 with goals from Josh Maja, Aune Heggebo and Isaac Price at The Hawthorns.
The Baggies moved out of the relegation zone after taking all three points against Sergej Jakirovic’s side on 14 March.
West Brom now sit 21st in the Championship, and the Opta Analyst supercomputer has made a much more positive prediction.

What is the latest West Brom relegation prediction?
Opta’s latest prediction would see Albion remain in the second tier, in a stark contrast to their verdict after the draw with Southampton.
After that disappointing result, the Black Country side were handed a 61.86 per cent chance of relegation, predicted to finish second bottom with an expected points total of 47.80.
Things are looking a lot more rosy for Morrison’s side now, they have a 46.26 per cent chance of dropping down to League One, and are expected to finish on 49.56 points, which would be enough for 21st position.
Oxford United and Leicester are now expected to be the sides that go down, with expected points tallies of 48.57 and 49.28.
| Position | Expected points | Relegation chances |
| 21. West Brom | 49.56 | 46.26% |
| 22. Leicester City | 49.28 | 42.30% |
| 23. Oxford United | 48.57 | 55.92% |
| 24. Sheffield Wednesday | 0.32 | 100.00% |
Despite having less expected points, Leicester have a 42.30 per cent chance of relegation, which is lower than the Baggies.

Why West Brom fans can’t put much faith in supercomputer
The Baggies supporters cannot take Opta’s latest prediction too seriously, though, as it clearly fluctuates a lot depending on results.
If they lose next time out, then their chances of the drop could soar once again and go back into the 60 per cent margin.
Morrison and his players have to do the business of the pitch, and win as many points between now and the end of the campaign.
The Hull result was encouraging, but it must be the start of something, rather than a flash in the pan, if they are to stay in the division at the end of the campaign.
They must build on it, and use the momentum to go on a winning run and put themselves firmly out of danger in the coming weeks, at Oxford and Leicester’s expense.
It has been a miserable season, but if the West Midlands side survive, it will not matter.
