Liv Rabjohn sends clear message as West Brom Women eye top-four finish vs Liverpool feds

Liv Rabjohn has admitted West Bromwich Albion Women must be more clinical as they look to bounce back against Liverpool Feds this weekend.

Albion return to action in the FAWNL Northern Premier on Sunday afternoon, knowing victory could prove crucial in their push for a top-four finish.

Siobhan Hodgetts-Still’s side were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Black Country rivals Wolves last time out, despite creating a number of opportunities at Molineux.

With just three league outings remaining, the Baggies remain in contention for one of their highest finishes in the division.

Captain Rabjohn has made it clear that performances must now be turned into results heading into the season’s final weeks.

Liv Rabjohn pinpoints key issue as West Brom chase top-four finish

The Baggies came out on the losing side against local rivals Wolves for the third time this season last time out.

Reflecting on the defeat, Rabjohn admitted that her side were left frustrated by their lack of cutting edge in front of goal.

“We’re really gutted about the Wolves game last week,” she told the club’s website. “I felt we were the better team and played the better football at times.

“Ultimately, we didn’t finish our chances earlier in the game. We could’ve gone two-nil up in the early parts, and I think it’s come back to bite us later on.”

Having beaten Wolves in the FAWNL Cup earlier this season, Albion were looking for another scalp against their promotion-chasing rivals, before Amber Hughes headed home in the 76th minute to secure all three points for the Old Gold at Molineux.

“It’s down to decision-making sometimes,” added Rabjohn, after converting chances have become quite the issue for Hodgetts-Still’s side across recent months.

“We’d be more concerned if we weren’t getting those shots off. We’ve come so far as a team, we’re closing the gap on teams like Wolves,” said the midfielder, with the result being a massive improvement on past trips to the promotion contenders – Albion lost 3-0 to both Stoke City and Burnley earlier this year.

“We’ve really gelled as a group; that gap is getting smaller and smaller. We just want to keep pushing on now.”

West Brom can take confidence from previous Liverpool Feds clash

While promotion hopes are all but out the window, a strong end to the campaign could still be on the cards for the Baggies.

With Liverpool Feds sitting just three points behind the Black Country outfit, Sunday’s clash is a big opportunity to cut the gap to fourth-placed Stoke to three points, while also carrying a game in hand.

“There’s a possibility for us to finishis fourth this season, which would be an incredible achievement for us,” said Rabjohn.

West Brom will take confidence from their prior meeting with the Feds this season, having secured a dramatic 3-2 comeback win.

Now, with the campaign heading into the final weeks, Hodgetts-Still’s side have the chance to finish strongly after a poor run at the start of 2026, where they could still finish fourth in the standings.
