West Brom: Callum Styles’ contract examined as relegation battle continues
West Bromwich Albion continue to see the best of Callum Styles in a frustrating season.
It finally looks as if things are turning around for the Baggies after an excellent string of results under James Morrison, a 2-0 win at Preston the latest of those on Saturday.
A positive run of results are helping to drag the Black Country outfit away from the bottom three as Leicester and Oxford are left behind, with the gap now at five points.
The B71 outfit have come together, and the squad finally appear to be in unison, with their best players surely to thank for that.
Styles has certainly been a shining light for West Brom as we now assess what we know about his contract at The Hawthorns.

What is Callum Styles’ contract situation at West Brom?
There have been plenty of complaints aimed towards Albion this season, but the Hungary international has been largely safe from criticism.
He has been a virtual ever-present in navy and white stripes, whether that be under Ryan Mason, Eric Ramsay or Morrison.
| Stat (Championship 25/26) | Callum Styles |
| Matches | 42 |
| Minutes played | 3401 |
| Goal involvements | 3 |
| Defensive contributions | 247 |
| Duels won | 204 |
There is a clear reason for that, as his performances from left back have been one of the best areas of the Baggies this campaign.
That makes it all the better that the versatile defender put pen to paper on a four-year deal when he moved to The Hawthorns from Barnsley in 2024.
As part of that deal, he earns a reported £8,000 a week, equating to a yearly salary in the region of £416,000 in the Midlands.
Styles has had a new lease of life at West Brom and may now attract interest away from B71 when the summer transfer window opens.
Could Styles leave West Brom in the summer?
There are bound to be plenty of Championship sides on the lookout for a new full-back when the current campaign comes to an end.
There is no reason that the Hungary international wouldn’t be on the shortlist of those outfits, especially if the Baggies are relegated to League One.
A drop into the third tier would almost certainly spark a departure for Styles, whereas his future becomes more secure if Championship safety is secured.

Morrison and Co. won’t want to wave goodbye to the 26-year-old in that instance, and the fact that his deal runs until 2028 only helps that.
It will certainly be an interesting summer for Styles, but it all depends on which division The Hawthorns is hosting next season.
