West Brom predicted XI vs Ipswich – Aune Heggebo back in as changes continue

West Bromwich Albion are looking to end the season on a high, as they welcome Ipswich for their final home match of the season.

The Baggies may have secured their place in the Championship on Tuesday with a 3-0 win against Watford, forging a gap that surely not even a points deduction could harm.

Albion are now nine matches unbeaten in the second tier, having embarked on a sensational run since James Morrison’s appointment in February.

After dismal spells under Ryan Mason and Eric Ramsay, things could not have gotten much worse for the Black Country outfit, but the turnaround has been nothing short of remarkable.

Looking to make a statement in their final home match, they welcome promotion chasers Ipswich to The Hawthorns on Saturday.

Aune Heggebo comes in as West Brom target final home win

Throughout his spell, Morrison has continued to get the best out of his strikers, with the switch to 4-4-2 benefiting each of Aune Heggebo, Josh Maja and Daryl Dike.

On Tuesday, the pair of Dike and Maja would start together, after it had often been the case that one of the two would partner Albion’s top scorer Heggebo.

After a run of nine successive starts, the Norwegian forward would finally get his rest against Watford on Tuesday, while American forward Dike continued his form after bringing his goal drought to an end against Preston.

With this in mind, Morrison could revert to basics on Saturday, with Heggebo in from the off, alongside the in-form Dike, who could start his final match at The Hawthorns.

Elsewhere, Jed Wallace is continuing to get back to full fitness and could feature in the final match of the season against Sheffield Wednesday.

For Morrison, his side is in fantastic form and will likely continue in a similar setup as they welcome Premier League hopefuls Ipswich to the Midlands.

Daryl Dike may be ready to say goodbye to West Brom fans

Since making his move to The Hawthorns in 2022, American forward Dike has had a torrid time with injuries.

Once seen as the man to fire the Baggies to the Premier League, the 25-year-old has been restricted to just 66 appearances for the club, scoring 11 times and registering three assists.

With his contract expiring at the end of the season, Saturday’s clash may just be the last chance that the towering striker has to play at Albion’s stomping ground.

Before Saturday’s win against Preston, Dike’s run without a goal stretched all the way back to the final day of last season.

Throughout this run, one thing that can be said about the forward is that he has never shied away from the task at hand.

And ultimately, he has been there in West Brom’s hour of need with two goals.

If Saturday is to be his last match at The Hawthorns, Albion fans will undoubtedly wish him well as he moves on.
