West Brom: Aune Heggebo’s contract examined as £4.75m deal assessed
West Bromwich Albion have overseen an up-and-down debut season for Aune Heggebo.
The Norway international completed a move to The Hawthorns in the summer, switching from Brann to the Black Country.
There were high expectations surrounding the 24-year-old, largely due to his £4.75millon transfer fee for an Albion side strapped for cash.
He hasn’t truly lived up to the hype in front of goal, but has still made a positive impression in the Championship.
Heggebo has been a useful signing for West Brom overall, and we have now assessed what we know about his contract in B71.

What is Aune Heggebo’s West Brom contract situation?
The Baggies have looked to their number 19 throughout the season, and he has certainly had some better periods than others.
That hasn’t stopped him from racking up a largely positive goal output for a side battling at the bottom end of the Championship table.
| Stat (Championship 25/26) | Aune Heggebo |
| Appearances | 44 |
| Starts | 35 |
| Goals | 9 |
| Assists | 4 |
| Chances created | 23 |
| Duels won | 212 |
He has 14 goal involvements across all competitions and looks to have played a role in keeping his side in the second tier this season.
There will be hope that he can now kick on in the Midlands, especially with his contract running until the summer of 2030.
Reports suggest that as part of that deal, he earns £15,000 per week, equating to a yearly salary in the region of £780,000.
That isn’t pocket change for the Albion, but at least Heggebo looks set to start a second season at West Brom on the right foot.
Has Heggebo been worth £4.75m to West Brom?
There have been some contrasting reviews of the forward, but his goal tally does speak for itself in a difficult season in B71.
He hasn’t made that £4.75m move look completely worth it so far, but has another four years under his belt to do exactly that.

If he can replicate his output from this campaign moving forward and add a clinical edge to his game, he could prove to be a star for the Baggies.
That won’t be easy, but there will certainly be hope that for the fee paid for his services, Heggebo can continuously improve year on year.
