West Brom player ratings vs Ipswich Town – 5/10 Daryl Dike wasteful, Danny Imray relentless
West Bromwich Albion ensured their Championship survival with a battling goalless draw with Ipswich Town on Saturday at The Hawthorns.
West Brom started the brighter of the two teams and nearly took the lead when Daryl Dike picked the pocket of Cedric Kipre, only for Christian Walton to make a smart stop.
Nat Phillips and Alex Mowatt went close for the hosts, while Aune Heggebo fired narrowly wide as promotion-chasing Ipswich looked shaky.
Kipre had a goal ruled out for being offside after Max O’Leary spilled Jaden Philogene’s long-range effort as Ipswich turned the screw in the second half.
West Brom needed to get a point to relegate Oxford United, and they did just that, despite being docked two points for an alleged financial breach on Friday. They are now seven points clear of the relegation zone as James Morrison‘s side went 10 unbeaten.

Daryl Dike a nuisance but spurns big chances
After scoring in back-to-back wins over Preston North End and Watford, Dike deserved a starting spot against a physical Ipswich backline.
The striker, who was a real focal point up top, forced the Tractor Boys’ defence into mistakes, but he couldn’t punish them.

He missed two big chances, won two of his five ground duels, and came out on top in just three of his 12 aerial duels.
The big forward was a real handful but he may want a couple of those opportunities back, before he made way in the second half.
West Brom won’t want to lose Danny Imray
When the 22-year-old swapped Crystal Palace for West Brom on loan in January, Baggies fans were hopeful he could hit the ground running.
Instead, he came into an underperforming team, and he himself struggled to find his feet.
However, right now, he looks a different player, as the marauding right-back continues to stretch defences, while being solid at the back.
Especially in the first half, the youngster was a thorn in Ipswich’s side. According to Sofascore, he made four defensive contributions, including four recoveries, two clearances, one tackle and one interception.
Imray also won three of his five ground duels. If West Brom have the means, and Palace are willing, they should look to sign Imray permanently in the summer.
