West Brom: Darren Bent calls for James Morrison to land permanent job after ‘remarkable’ reveal
West Bromwich Albion have an easy decision to make in appointing James Morrison permanently, according to Darren Bent.
Morrison has overseen a run of six draws and four wins since losing his first game in caretaker charge away at Oxford United.
That 10-game unbeaten run has confirmed Albion’s Championship safety, despite having two points deducted last week.
Many West Brom fans would now love to see Morrison stay on at The Hawthorns, but an official decision has yet to be made.
In the view of Bent, Morrison is fully deserving of becoming West Brom’s next permanent manager.

Andy Goldstein says what James Morrison’s done is ‘remarkable’
Morrison would accept the West Brom job if it was offered to him, and there is no reason why Shilen Patel should not do just that.
While Morrison is hardly experienced, he knows the Baggies well and has proved over the past couple of months that he is capable of leading this side.
Had the season started upon Morrison taking over, Albion would be competing for promotion right now and not fighting relegation as they were up until a few days ago.
Andy Goldstein read out Morrison’s impressive record at Albion live on talkSPORT Drive on Monday and added: “That’s remarkable.”
Former striker Bent added: “What a job he’s done. They’ve been sensational since losing his first game. It comes back to him knowing the club. He was there for a long time as a player – it makes a difference.”
“I hope he gets the role. West Brom’s a big club. They’ve lost a few players and the managers they’ve brought in are indifferent, but at the start of any season you expect West Brom to push for the playoffs.”

And there is absolutely no reason why Albion can’t compete at the right end of the table again next season should Morrison be at the helm.
Where would West Brom be if season started on 7 March?
Morrison has guided Albion through the past 10 games unbeaten, which is pretty crazy when you consider just how low morale was beforehand.
If the season started on 7 March, the day West Brom started this unbeaten run, they would be fourth in the Championship.
Eighteen points from those 10 matches is bettered only by Norwich City (20 points), Coventry City (21) and Southampton (26).

Southampton are the only other side to have gone unbeaten across this period, with Tonda Eckert working wonders at St Mary’s.
All Morrison can do now is pick up another positive result away at Sheffield Wednesday next weekend to conclude the season and then wait until he gets the call from Patel.
