Sheffield Wednesday and West Bromwich Albion will both be aiming to end their season on a positive note on Saturday when they meet at Hillsborough.

James Morrison’s Albion side secured their safety on Saturday with a goalless draw against Ipswich, just days after receiving a two-point deduction.

It has been a fantastic spell for the Baggies, who are unbeaten in 10 under the former midfielder after his arrival in February sparked an impressive turnaround.

The same cannot be said for Wednesday, who are rooted to the bottom of the Championship on minus three points.

As Owls fans look to put the campaign behind them, they welcome an in-form West Brom side with the season drawing to a close.

After being hit with an 18-point deduction earlier in the season, any lingering hopes of avoiding relegation were extinguished in South Yorkshire, after a desperately thin squad had already left Henrik Pedersen with little room for manoeuvre heading into the campaign.

With their only victory coming against Portsmouth in September, the Owls have endured a torrid run ever since, with their last remaining consolation now the chance to reset the points tally to zero on Saturday.

As for the Baggies, they have remained in fine form since Morrison’s first defeat against Oxford. Recent wins over Preston and Watford, coupled with a draw against Ipswich, have secured their survival.

Team news and predicted lineups

On the team news front, much remains the same for Baggies boss Morrison, with Jed Wallace and Mikey Johnston the only absentees heading into the weekend.

With his side flying since the switch to a 4-4-2 formation, the former midfielder will likely stick with the same formula.

However, there is a chance Josh Maja and Daryl Dike could start together up top, with the pair’s future undecided heading into the summer months.

With Dike potentially coming in for top scorer Aune Heggebo, Morrison could make one change.

For Pedersen and the Wednesdayites, though, the thin squad remains battered.

With three assists to his name as well, Lowe leads the way among Wednesday players in terms of goal contributions.

An experienced player at this level, Pedersen will once again look to the winger as the South Yorkshire outfit aim to end their season on a high.
