Jayson Molumby: West Brom star watches on as Republic of Ireland fans stage multiple protests
Jayson Molumby has continued his season after helping West Bromwich Albion eventually survive in the Championship.
The midfielder was a mainstay under James Morrison, who guided the Baggies to safety with a sensational unbeaten run either side of defeats in the first and last games of his spell last season.
Morrison has since been confirmed as the permanent manager at The Hawthorns and will be watching on as Molumby takes on Qatar with the Republic of Ireland.
The Irish went ahead early at the Aviva Stadium through Brentford star Nathan Collins, with Heimir Hallgrimsson selecting a strong side after missing out on the World Cup.
It wasn’t all happy, though, as Molumby watched on in several protests that stopped the game.

Molumby was in the thick of the action in the middle of the park, but that won’t be the talking point.
Questions have continued to be asked about the upcoming Nations League campaign for the Irish, who have been drawn against Israel.

The Irish FA are facing calls to boycott the games at the end of September and the start of October due to the ongoing situation in the Middle East.
Protests have been held in the week, and they continued against Qatar on Thursday, with tennis balls being thrown onto the pitch twice in the first half alone.
Molumby is likely guaranteed to be involved in both, given his standing in the Irish squad.
How has Jayson Molumby performed this season?
It has been a hit-and-miss season for the midfielder, who caught fan attention for his discipline yet again, despite ending well.
The best example would be his red card at Coventry for two stupid yellows, which allowed the champions to win the game despite the Baggies leading twice at the CBS Arena.

Molumby was a key figure under Morrison, though, and completed 90 minutes in six of the final seven Championship games as survival was secured.
Even in the one game he was taken off early, he still scored in a 3-0 win over Watford at The Hawthorns.
With that spot at the World Cup cruelly taken away on penalties against the Czech Republic, Molumby will have all eyes on West Brom and bouncing back to bigger and better things next season.
