West Brom: Out of contract stars ranked, should they stay at The Hawthorns?

West Bromwich Albion have several first-team stars approaching the end of their contracts this summer.

The Baggies are looking ahead to a busy summer that is likely to be full of change after a dreadful Championship season.

The introduction of James Morrison turned things around, ensured survival, and now allows him to carry Albion into the new campaign.

His first task will be to decide the future of multiple players after the new head coach confirmed talks had got underway with "a couple" of out-of-contract aces.

West Brom have choices to make ahead of the summer as we now rank each of the six players whose futures are up in the air.

Which players are out of contract at West Brom?

Almost every player played a role in B71 to keep the Black Country outfit in the Championship this season.

Morrison allowed everyone to hit a higher level and do their utmost to secure much-needed wins to carry the Baggies away from the drop zone.

Many of those are now facing uncertain futures, with six players looking towards the end of their current deals.

Jed Wallace, Karlan Grant, Daryl Dike, Josh Maja, Max O'Leary and Joe Wildsmith are all out of contract by the time the summer transfer window opens.

Morrison now has to decide who to keep at West Brom, but unfortunately, it feels as if Wildsmith, Maja and even Wallace are potentially doomed.

The former Derby County keeper ranks at the bottom of the pecking order in this list due to his failed switch to Middlesbrough.

He hasn't played once for Boro, and although he may make a useful backup option for someone, he has already failed to do that in B71.

The keeper sits below Josh Maja in this list, as it feels as if his race is run at The Hawthorns after three years and 19 goals.

Similar can be said about Wallace, who may also be on his way out as the Baggies are in desperate need of a true refresh in the summer.

Dike may also find himself out the door with this trio, although it feels more likely that he will land a new deal if anyone does.

Max O'Leary and Karlan Grant may get new West Brom deals

There is no guarantee that anyone in this list gets offered fresh terms, but O'Leary and Grant feel like the most likely options.

The keeper seriously helped to bring some stability to the Baggies after his move from Bristol City, and it seems like a no-brainer to have him stick around.

Things aren't so simple for Grant and his future, especially after injury worries seriously hampered his season at The Hawthorns.

He does bring versatility and, when he's on form, can produce a moment of magic which may be worth keeping around.

There are plenty of decisions to make, but it could be the perfect chance for a hard reset for Morrison and Co.
