Charlie Taylor will certainly be a key player for West Brom against Millwall in the Championship on Saturday.

The left-back started his second consecutive game for the Baggies against Norwich City at Carrow Road on 1 October in the 1-0 victory.

Ryan Mason's team will travel to the Den on 4 October as they look to once again build a winning run in the league and solidify their position in the play-offs spots.

Taylor was substituted in the 75th minute against the Canaries after going down with a knock, and the Albion now face a nervous wait on his fitness.

Charlie Taylor availability uncertain for Millwall vs West Brom

Taylor looks "touch and go" to face Millwall in the Championship away from home, Lewis Cox says.

The Southampton loanee's availability for the fixture at The Den looks up in the air right now, and it remains to be seen whether Mason will be able to rely on him.

Cox wrote on X on 3 October: "Think Taylor can be very pleased with his first couple of appearances. Looks touch and go tomorrow."

With the 32-year-old pipping Callum Styles from the pecking order at The Hawthorns, his absence will undoubtedly be a big blow for the Black Country outfit.

Styles was a key player at The Hawthorns at the start of the season, but his influence has diminished in recent matches.

The Hungary international has done well playing out of position at left-back, providing impressive attacking quality to the Baggies.

While the 25-year-old was trusted by Mason early on, it looks like Taylor's defensive solidity is appreciated by the English manager.

West Brom's record this season

West Brom are seen as favourites for Championship promotion, but they need to be consistent throughout the season.

Recent matches have shown that defensive solidity will be key for Albion, and it appears the former Tottenham head coach wants to rely on his backline to succeed in the current campaign.
