Max O'Leary was once again showing why he's the best goalkeeper in the Championship as West Brom lost to Birmingham City at The Hawthorns on Saturday.

The 30-year-old, who joined the Albion from Bristol City at the start of the year, has come on leaps and bounds since his arrival in the Black Country and is producing some of the best goalkeeping displays since the days of Ben Foster.

He was unfortunate to be on the losing side against Wolves in the final game before the international break and the same could be said again this weekend after the 1-0 loss to Blues.

Chris Davies' side scored the only goal of the game via an August Priske penalty in the first half, after a clumsy challenge by Nat Phillips brought the Dane down in the box.

O'Leary went the wrong way from Priske's spot-kick, but the Ireland international pulled off multiple other saves that kept the Baggies within a chance of getting a rws

Despite his best efforts, West Brom's outfielders were yet again not up to the task, but that didn't stop Don Goodman heralding the goalkeeper's performance.

Why Don Goodman was blown away by Max O'Leary - again

In the sixth minute, Jay Stansfield looked certain to score for Birmingham when he latched onto a good header into the six-yard box.

O'Leary managed to position himself in the way of Stansfield's effort to direct it over the bar, leading to big praise from Goodman.

"It's another world-class save to add to his collection," said Goodman on Sky Sports Main Event.

"At Molineux, he left your jaw on the floor with the way he kept the ball out of the goal.

"This is another one here - and he's got no right to keep that out.

"His reflexes, his anticipation from Stansfield...he makes himself big and somehow manages to get it up and over the bar."

Later in the second half, O'Leary pulled off another stop to deny Priske, leaving Goodman stunned again.

"I'm losing my words, here," Goodman added.

"Again, it's just stunning. Absolutely stunning goalkeeping.

"It's a brilliant header, it's headed down and going into the roof of the net, and it's a brilliant piece of goalkeeping - again - from O'Leary."

O'Leary's so good, even Steve Bull was impressed by him

Goodman and Steve Bull waxed lyrical about O'Leary's shot-stopping against Wolves last month.

As Wolves struggled to break down the Baggies, Bull admitted: "I've got to say, the keeper has done some outstanding saves. Reflex saves, dives... he's kept them in the game."

It's nothing new for O'Leary, either.

According to FotMob, O'Leary has prevented 7.7 goals this season - way more than any other goalkeeper in the Championship.

Derby's Jacob Zetterstrom is second with 2.2.

West Brom's No 1 has, without a doubt, been in incredible form and is currently the first name on the team sheet when it comes to naming the Championship team of the season.
