Ousmane Diakite confusion cleared up ahead of West Brom trip to Wolves
Ousmane Diakite will be in West Brom's matchday squad against Wolves on Sunday, barring any injury issues ahead of the Championship fixture.
Albion head to Molineux for the first time since their 3-2 win there in 2021 when Sam Allardyce was in charge and Matheus Pereira scored twice from the penalty spot.
James Morrison's men also go into the game three points ahead of Wolves in the Championship standings after an impressive start to the 2026-27 campaign.
However, there has been some confusion among fans about whether or not Diakite will be available after he picked up his fifth booking of the season on Saturday.
The 26-year-old midfielder was shown a yellow card in stoppage time against QPR, leading to fears that he'll be banned for the trip to Wolverhampton.
That won't be the case, though, with Diakite expected to play a role in the Baggies' midfield.

Many football fans associate five yellow cards as equalling a one-match ban, with Diakite already picking up bookings against Norwich, Newcastle, Middlesbrough and Watford before his latest one against QPR.
However, because Diakite's booking at Newcastle came in the Carabao Cup, it won't have an affect.
If Diakite gets booked again before West Brom's 19th match of the Championship campaign, he'll pick up a suspension.
Therefore, if he get booked against Wolves, he will then serve a one-match ban when the Albion return to action after the international break against Birmingham City on 10 October.
Essentially, suspensions from accumulating yellow cards do not carry over into other competitions.
How important has Diakite been for West Brom?
It's fair to say that since Morrison took charge of West Brom last season, Diakite has been one of the club's best players.
So far this term, he's been a solid performer for the Black Country club, with stats by Sofascore showing that his work-rate and defensive contributions have been vital in the midfield.
He ranks fifth among Morrison's squad for distance covered per 90 minutes (10.7km) and fourth for tackles per match (1.9).
No Baggies star has made more interceptions per appearance than Diakite (1.4), while his ability to recycle possession has also been key, losing the ball just 5.4 times per game (12th in the squad) and boasting a 92 per cent pass accuracy.
