West Bromwich Albion's Premier League glory days seem a long time ago.

This is now Albion's sixth season back in the Championship since being relegated in 2020-21.

Some excellent players have come and gone since being back in the second tier, but there's nothing like being in the Premier League.

The early 2010s were some of the Baggies' halcyon days in the top flight, largely establishing themselves as a competitive mid-table side.

It was in this period of time that Albion's highest ever Premier League finish was achieved in the 2012-13 season.

Steve Clarke's side finished eighth that year, as the Baggies put up 49 points and finished just one place behind Liverpool in seventh.

Which ex-West Brom player features in Premier League post?

Since the league's inception in 1992, the Premier League has been home for some of the world's very best footballers.

Players from every corner of the globe dream of playing in England's top flight, and often don't need much convincing to make the move if it arises.

One of football's true hotbeds of talent is Argentina, producing flair players at the same rate they do gritty central midfielders and combative defenders.

Taking to their official Instagram account on Friday, the Premier League has paid tribute to the South American nation and the impact it's had on the division.

There's now been 102 Argentinian players to have plied their trade in England's top division, and one of those is ex-West Brom star Claudio Yacob.

He's seen towards the back right of the graphic, sandwiched between Aston Villa's Emi Buendia and former Newcastle hero Jonas Gutierrez.

Premier League winning-stars Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero, Alexis Mac Allister and Hernan Crespo are all included in the graphic as well.

So, how many other Argentinian players have represented West Brom alongside Yacob?

Who was seven-appearance Argentinian to play for West Brom?

Yacob joined West Brom in the summer of 2012, and made 30 Premier League appearances to help Albion to that aforementioned eighth-placed finish.

The industrious defensive midfielder went on to make 175 appearances for Albion, with 160 of those coming in England's top flight before leaving in 2018.

He was one of the most under-rated players in his position during his time in the Premier League, and is still fondly remembered in B71.

Only two other Argentine players have turned out for the Baggies: Juan Carlos Menseguez and Sebastian Blanco.

Menseguez joined on a short-term loan from San Lorenzo in 2009, but the winger only went on to make seven appearances and scored one goal.

Blanco signed from Metalist Kharkiv in 2014, but only made five appearances before joining Argentine side San Lorenzo in 2015.
