Should Barney Stewart start up front in West Brom vs Birmingham?
Barney Stewart could be in line for a starting berth when West Brom host Birmingham.
The £1.3m man has struggled to nail down a place in James Morrison's side after his move from Falkirk.
He has featured in seven Championship matches, but has not started in the division since he joined The Hawthorns outfit.
The 22-year-old has played for a total of 71 minutes, so he has not really been given a proper opportunity.
Stewart could be handed a chance to kickstart his Baggies career against the Blues on 10 October.
West Brom News examines whether that should be the case or if Morrison should stick with his trusted options, Aune Heggebo and Jimmy-Jay Morgan.
Why Barney Stewart is in contention to start for West Brom vs Birmingham
Stewart has increased his confidence with two goals while away on international duty.
He notched them in Scotland Under-21's 5-2 win over Azerbaijan's youth side.
The two-time youth international showed what he is capable of when he shone for Tony Docherty's side.
It may give Morrison food for thought, as he prepares for his team to come back from an extended break.
Should Aune Heggebo or Jimmy Jay-Morgan be axed from West Brom team?
The question that Morrison has to ask himself is, do Heggebo or Morgan deserve to be dropped.
The answer, quite frankly is no, as they have both have a decent impact so far this season.
Morgan has notched three goals and three assists in his first eight second tier appearances.
Meanwhile, Heggebo has not had the returns that he deserves, with just two goals in seven games in the league.
The Norwegian ranks eighth among Championship forwards with over five appearances when it comes to conversion rate, with 28.57 per cent success in front of the goal, per Sofascore data.
That suggests that he is making the most of the chances provided, and he could explode in the near future.
Therefore, it makes no sense for Morrison to chop and change, just to fit the young Scottish striker in.
When the current options' stats drop to a level where they are no longer consistently performing, then Stewart should perhaps be given an opportunity.
However, there is no reason for Albion to change a formula that is winning more times than not at the minute.
