How to get to The Hawthorns by car

The Hawthorns is located in the borough of Sandwell in the West Midlands, around seven to eight miles North‑West of Birmingham city centre. You can type the postcode B71 4LF into your GPS to get driving directions.

If you’re driving from outside the area:

  • Use the M5 motorway, and exit at Junction 1
  • After exiting, take the A41 (Birmingham Road) toward Birmingham
  • The Hawthorns is about 600 metres from the Junction 1 of M5 on the A41
  • You’ll spot it on the right side if coming from the M5 exit.

There are a few recommended car parking spots outside The Hawthorns:

  • Park Inn West Bromwich offers 250 spaces priced at £5 each
  • Street parking on Kenrick Way and Telford Way for a quick and easy get away after the match
  • There is also Hawthorns House, which offers limited disabled parking at £5 for those who require

Matchdays can make the roads congested, so be sure to plan you're journey always so that you arrive early and stress free before kick off.

How to get to The Hawthorns by public transport

The closest station is The Hawthorns Train & Metro Station, which is a convenient 5‑minute walk from the stadium.

Trains run from places like Worcester, Kidderminster, Stratford‑upon‑Avon via Birmingham Snow Hill & Moor Street.

Metro (Midland Metro) also serves The Hawthorns, it connects to Snow Hill and Wolverhampton alongside other stops, as many people tend to use this service also.

Alternatively, there is bus transport also:

  • Bus 74 (National Express West Midlands) runs between Birmingham City Centre and Dudley, passing through Handsworth and West Bromwich, with a stop directly on Birmingham Road, right outside The Hawthorns.
  • Bus 75 is also a choice, as it runs along Birmingham Road by the stadium, offering an alternative for those coming from Birmingham.

Again, plan you're travels well, as traffic en route to Birmingham Road can be heavy, especially on West Brom matchdays.
