Aune Heggebo is well known to his new West Bromwich Albion team-mate Felix Horn Myhre.

The duo were team-mates at Brann before Heggebo made the switch to The Hawthorns 12 months.

Now, Horn Myhre has trodden the same path from Norway to the Black Country after completing his switch earlier this week.

Moving to a new country can pose its own challenges, something Heggebo can attest having gone through tough times in his debut campaign.

It is not just settling on the pitch, players have to adjust to a new country and become to accostomed to life off it too.

And Heggebo has been taking the time to help his compatriot settle into life at West Brom.

How has Aune Heggebo been helping Felix Horn Myhre?

Heggebo scored 10 goals in all competitions last term, which saw him finish as Albion's top scorer in the 2025/26 campaign.

There is a hope that the 25-year-old can enjoy a more fruitful campaign this time around.

Perhaps having Myhre around will help in that regard, but it is clearly not just a partnership on the pitch the duo enjoy.

Myhre spoke about how Heggebo has been helping him get adjusted of the pitch now that he has completed his move to The Hawthorns.

In quotes reported by the Express & Star, he said: “He’s (Heggebo) been praising the culture in the squad, the togetherness in the dressing room, the facilities, the fans and the staff. He spoke really fondly of the coaching staff and he’s really enjoyed his time here.

“When I spoke to him, it was quite clear that this could be a place that I enjoy being at as well. I think him being here will help me a lot. It’s always nice to have someone you can speak your own language to when you go abroad.

“He’s a friend of mine from before so it’ll be really nice to see him again. He’ll be able to help me find a place to live, get to know the group, show me around and help with day-to-day stuff.”

The Baggies went through a season of turmoil in the 2025/26 campaign but modern-day club legend James Morrison steered the ship to safety.

There is clearly a really nice culture being developed by Morrison, which will hopefully yield results on the pitch.

Heggebo taking the time to help out his pal will be important, and having a familiar face around can hopefully help him gel with his new team-mates faster.

Earlier this week, Morrison explained how French-speaking Ousmane Diakite has been helping explain messages to new boy Nolan Galves.

There is a sense of everyone pulling together and helping each other out, and that spirit can help teams perform well on the pitch.
