There is a real feelgood factor about West Bromwich Albion right now.

The Baggies are riding high in fifth after five games, taking 10 points from a possible 15 to sit just one off top spot.

After losing to Middlesbrough and drawing with Charlton Ahtletic, the Baggies rebounded with a 1-0 win over Watford on Saturday.

Jimmy-Jay Morgan scored the only goal of the game, it wasn't his best effort but ask any Albion fan if they care?

James Morrison is doing some quietly excellent work at The Hawthorns, and there is hope the scars of last season are being healed.

Here, West Brom News looks at three questions to have emerged at The Hawthorns over the past seven days.

Is Jimmy-Jay Morgan already the Championship bargain of the season?

Okay, fair enough, it might seem wildly premature to be asking this question as early as September.

But Morgan is certainly trending in the right direction to say that the answer to this question is an unequivocal "yes".

Albion paid Chelsea just £1.3million to bring the forward to The Hawthorns, after a loan spell at Peterborough United last season yielded 12 League One goals.

The 20-year-old already has five goals in seven appearances across all competitions, three in five in the second tier.

He is trending very much in the right direction, and Albion fans are enjoying what Morgan is bringing to the table so far.

Can West Brom continue to challenge at the top?

Last season felt like West Brom were living in a fever dream.

Failed managerial appointments, underperforming players, and the very real threat of relegation.

Morrison did a fantastic rescue act to keep Albion's head above water, which resulted in his interim appointment being made permanent.

There are some real big hitters in the division this season, and other teams who have spent big or are expected to challenge.

So, it will be a real tall order to keep challenge at the top end of the table, but Albion certainly feel like they're trending in the right direction.

Will West Brom's recruitment pay dividends?

West Brom's recruitment in the past has not always been the most effective for getting out of the Championship.

But there has been a real change in approach during the summer, with a focus on younger, hungrier talent with high potential, mixed with looking for more established bargains.

It feels like Morrison is putting together a team that is eager to impress, but also with bags of talent.

Now, it might be at some point tough decisions would have to be made about selling some of the higher-potential players.

But, for teams to be successful in modern football they have to be adept at player trading, and Albion feel in a good position to be able to do that.
