West Brom: Meet James Marrison's staff as two new faces arrive for 2026-27 season
The Baggies could be in for a major squad overhaul, with players like Joshua Griffiths, Jed Wallace and Daryl Dike departing.
Karlan Grant and Josh Maja's contracts at the Albion have also expired and it remains to be seen whether they can agree new deals with them.
Morrison was appointed as the permanent manager at The Hawthorns after saving West Brom from relegation to League One, and ahead of next season, Gavin Strachan and Tony McMahon have joined his first-team coaching staff.
The former Scotland international took interim charge of the Baggies after Eric Ramsay's forgetful spell in B71.
In the ongoing transfer window, the Albion have already signed Jimmy-Jay Morgan, Barney Stewart and Matt Ingram as Morrison gears up for a massive rebuild.
Who are new West Brom hires Gavin Strachan and Tony McMahon?
Strachan arrives as one of West Brom's first-team coaches after spending six years in the same role at Celtic.
The Scot started his coaching career in non-league football before spending time as an assistant manager at clubs such as Doncaster Rovers and Peterborough United.
McMahon has spent time as assistant manager at Scunthorpe United and York City, where he also became the director of football before leaving in 2025.
The other member of Morrison's first-team coaching staff includes Matt Gill, who joined him in March, with Boaz Myhill still the goalkeeper coach.
What fans can expect from James Morrison's first full season
Morrison has turned the atmosphere around at West Brom after his appointment, bringing some hope back in the fanbase after the underwhelming spells of Ramsay and Ryan Mason.
It will be interesting to see whether the Baggies can continue to improve their attacking output under the former Scotland international, whose initial arrival saw an uptick in goals.
Morrison also made sure the Albion were defensively solid in their push for Championship survival during the 2025-26 campaign, keeping seven clean sheets in the last nine league matches.
The foundations have been built for progress in B71 and the 40-year-old head coach will surely be aiming for a play-offs spot next season.
