Ryan Mason looks to have fully unlocked Isaac Price's potential so far this season at West Brom.

Mason has led the Baggies to back-to-back victories to open their Championship campaign, with a penalty shootout defeat against Derby County in the Carabao Cup the only set back they have suffered so far.

In all three games so far this term, Price has impressed after being given freedom by Mason and a license to operate in the number ten role.

This decision has reaped its rewards, with 21-year-old Price kickstarting his season with three goals and one assist in the opening three matches.

Price named in Championship Team of the Week

The midfielder excelled in their chaotic 3-2 away win against Wrexham, netting a brace which earned Price a place in the Championship team of the Week, with the news being sarcastically described as "truly shocking" by West Brom on their official X account on Monday.

Price's stats against Wrexham:

  • Minutes - 87
  • Goals - 2
  • Expected goals - 0.84
  • Touches - 34

After some shared their initial anxiety about how the post was worded, West Brom supporters echoed this sentiment, as they shared their thoughts in the comments.

West Brom look dangerous going forward this season

Price is not the only player who has impressed from an attacking standpoint under Mason.

Marquee signing Aune Heggebo has impressed Albion supporters with how he has led the line so far, whilst Mikey Johnston managed to grab two assists off the bench against Wrexham, with the winger's performance making Mason look like a genius.

Albion will need to take more defensive precautions, however, after Torbjorn Heggem's move to Bologna.

George Campbell had a shaky moment against Wrexham as he was bulldozed off the ball by Kieffer Moore, with the Welsh outfit nearly profiting at the hands of the American's mistake.

Mason and Co. will be hoping that Campbell will eventually settle into the side and become a like-for-like replacement for Heggem.
