West Brom's toughest run of 2026-27 Championship season examined as EFL confirm fixture list
West Brom have found out their fixtures for the 2026-27 Championship season.
The Baggies will be keen to bounce back from a campaign which saw them nearly relegated from the Championship.
James Morrison turned their fortunes round, taking them on a 10-match unbeaten run before the final day defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.
The manager will hope to continue that momentum when the new season kicks off, and he now knows the order in which his side will face their opposition.
The Throstles will open their campaign away against Norwich City and finish it at home to Bolton Wanderers, but it may be the games in between that matter most.
Here, West Brom News analyses the potential hardest and easiest runs of the season for the B71 club.
Birmingham and Wolves play a part in West Brom's hardest run
The Baggies will play Birmingham and Wolves back to back twice this season, but the second time looks to be in the midst of their hardest spell.
The period between 23 January to 2 March look particularly difficult as Albion face relegated sides, former top-flight teams and promotion contenders.
They start it with a home game with West Ham, before travelling to Southampton on 26 January and Millwall on 30 January.
Birmingham are next, away from home on 27 February before they start March with a trip to Burnley.
If they can get through those matches with a decent points tally, it could determine where they finish.
On paper, West Brom's easiest run of fixtures is in November and December
The run of matches between 25 November and 26 December is a pretty forgiving one.
The Black Country side will face all three of the promoted sides in that period, as well as teams that finished around them.
It begins with a trip to Bolton, before they host Bristol City on 28 November.
December starts with Portsmouth away, then Cardiff City at home, with a trip to Stoke City and Sheffield United on their own turf.
The run finishes with a Boxing Day clash against Lincoln City, and should hopefully leave supporters in a festive mood.
