West Bromwich Albion are feeling the excitement ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, with the fixtures finally released.

The Baggies are aiming for a more prosperous term, after they were dragged into a relegation battle last season.

Former midfielder James Morrison steered them to safety, but a similar story must be avoided at all costs.

Albion will open their season on Saturday 15 August, when they face Norwich City.

But, there are two days in particular that fans in the Midlands are concerned about.

With the Black Country derby back on the fixture list, West Brom fans have two crucial dates to circle in their calendars.

West Brom will be out for revenge on 19 September

For the first time since the 2011-12 season, West Brom vs Wolves will be a league fixture played with fans in attendance.

They did play out the Black Country derby in the 2020-21 term, but the COVID-impacted year does not exactly live in the memories of fans.

With today's release in mind, the derby was the one to look for immediately, with fans now jotting 19 September, and 20 February down in their diary, as they face Wolves with revenge in mind.

At Molineux in September, and The Hawthorns in February, fans will experience what they have all been waiting for.

The two sides last went head to head in January 2024, as goals from Pedro Neto and Matheus Cunha sealed a 2-0 FA Cup win.

Naturally, the result was rather disappointing, but what it did was show just what fans in the Midlands had been missing for 12 years.

Wolves will be one of the favourites to go back up to the Premier League, but the Baggies will be looking to get revenge, with the playing field now levelled slightly.

And after the September clash at Molineux, supporters get to do it all over again, with the clash at The Hawthorns taking place in February.

There are obvious fond memories of the last clash in the league, with Peter Odemwingie netting a hattrick in a 5-1 away win.

And with the pressure on the relegated outfit, Albion could sniff another scalp on their travels down the road, while the chance is there to get revenge on home soil.

Five fixtures West Brom fans will want first in 2026-27 Championship schedule

When West Brom face Birmingham City

Wolves is obviously the one to look out for, but West Brom vs Birmingham has also been a feisty encounter in recent years.

In the 2026-27 season, they will go head to head on 10 October at home and 27 February away.

The Second City outfit showed serious ambition upon their Championship return last year, but endured a difficult campaign as they settled back down in the second tier.

This time, Blues will be aiming to challenge at the top end of the division thanks to their ambitious American owners.

Should all three West Midlands clubs find themselves up there, it would make for a set of feisty matches between them.

Now, all there is to do is prepare, with the dates of such games now in the calendar.
