Nolan Galves has left West Brom boss James Morrison with an issue after the 1-1 draw with Charlton.

The right-back started his fourth consecutive Championship game since joining from Rodez earlier this summer.

Callum Styles, his counterpart on the opposite flank, scored a wonderful opener at The Hawthorns.

However, Tyreece Campbell equalised just 10 minutes later, with the cross that led to the goal coming down Galves' side.

It was not just the fact that the leveller was partially his fault that will leave Morrison with concerns.

The Albion boss will have to solve it going forward, before it seriously impacts his side.

How did Nolan Galves perform in West Brom's draw with Charlton?

Galves was one of the Baggies' biggest issues as his showing against the Addicks was extremely inconsistent.

The Frenchman took 97 touches in the contest, per Fotmob data, so he got on the ball a lot in the contest.

However, he failed to make the required impact going forward, as despite putting 12 passes into the final third, he failed with two dribble attempts and completed just one of four crosses, for a 25 per cent success rate.

Defensively, Galves made two tackles, one block and one clearance, with three recoveries.

In terms of duels, he won just two of six of the ground duels that he attempted for a 33 per cent success rate.

What is the solution if Galves continues to disappoint?

Morrison likely already has the solution right under his nose, as Brayann Pereira was signed on transfer deadline day.

If Galves continues to underwhelm when he is given a chance to start, it will only be a better of time before his compatriot takes over.

While the former NEC Nijmegen star operated at centre-back this season, he is primarily a right-back, so could challenge Galves for his spot.

Pereira averaged 3.17 tackles and 4.64 recoveries when playing his preferred position in the last campaign.

He won 57.6 per cent of his ground duels, which is a lot more than what Galves managed against The Valley outfit.

He averaged a 23.3 per cent cross success, so they are pretty similar in that aspect.

Morrison may decide that he prefers Pereira for his solid defensive attributes.
