Josh Maja reacts as emotional West Brom farewell message sent
Josh Maja has shown his support following the departure of West Bromwich Albion coach Damia Abella.
The Baggies confirmed on Tuesday that the Spaniard would be leaving after four years of service at The Hawthorns.
This came at a time when James Morrison's backroom staff were announced for the coming season.
Morrison took over at the helm in February, handed the task of steering Albion to safety.
That he did, with his side embarking on a 10-match unbeaten run before the final day of the season.
Now, the former midfielder is looking ahead to what will hopefully be a more prosperous campaign for West Brom.
West Brom players say goodbye to Damia Abella
In Tuesday's announcement, it was confirmed that Matt Gill will remain as assistant head coach, while Gavin Strachan and Tony McMahon join as first team coaches.
Abella's departure was confirmed in the statement, with Albion saying: "Everyone at The Hawthorns wishes Damia and his family the very best for the future."
Taking to Instagram, the Spaniard said: "After four unforgettable seasons, the time has come for me to say goodbye. I leave with incredible memories, lifelong friendships, and immense gratitude to everyone who has been part of this journey.
"I am proud of everything we achieved together, and I leave knowing this special club has a bright future ahead. Thank you for your support, your passion, and the moments we shared along the way. Once a Baggie, always a Baggie."
Albion forward Maja would like the post in support, alongside young prospect Ollie Bostock.
Joining the support, midfielder Ousmane Diakite would say his thanks.
"Thank you Dania I wish you a bright future and much success in your future challenges," he said.
James Morrison trait stands West Brom in good stead
Concerns over Morrison taking the full-time job on a permanent basis were always going to arise given his lack of experience.
However, he has continued to prove himself, particularly as he makes smart decisions as to who he wants around him.
From chats with Tony Pulis and Tony Mowbray, to the appointment of Gill earlier this year, it is clear that the former midfielder has his sights on extracting everything he can out of this job.
At the back end of the season, he stuck with a more common sense tactical approach that worked wonders, and his shaping of the backroom will only continue to come to his aid, especially when it comes to his profiling of the squad - an ability that proved vital last term.
