West Brom in for 'highly regarded' Celtic figure Gavin Strachan as everything falls into place
West Brom are reportedly keen to reinforce James Morrison's coaching staff with Celtic man Gavin Strachan.
Albion brought in Matt Gill to help out Morrison last season and it worked brilliantly, with a 10-game win streak that avoided relegation.
They are now looking for more experience, to try and pull away from the drop battle, with the 47-year-old on their radar.
Everything seems to be coming together for The Hawthorns side, with working being done on both the coaching and transfer side.
The Black Country club are close to completing deals for Carter Pinnington and Jimmy-Jay Morgan from Liverpool and Chelsea respectively.
It signals an approach that could set the B71 side up for success in the near future, after years of misery and disorganisation.
West Brom eye Gavin Strachan move
The coaching team was in need of an overhaul this summer, and it appears that has now started.
Celtic Shorts claimed on Tuesday that the Baggies want to bring Strachan to the West Midlands.
It states that the coach is "highly regarded" by the Hoops, leading first-team sessions for the Glasgow club.
Who is West Brom target Strachan?
He is the son of legendary former Celtic and Scotland boss Gordon Strachan.
He has been at Celtic for six years, working under the likes of Ange Postecoglou, Brendan Rodgers and Martin O'Neill, as well as less successful managers like Wilfried Nancy.
The Aberdeen-born coach has vast experience of the Football League, having played for Coventry, Peterborough United, Southend United, Hartlepool United, Stockport County and Notts County.
He also has coaching experience in England, having held assistant manager roles at Doncaster Rovers and Peterborough, under Darren Ferguson.
The Baggies will hope that his time in English football and leaning under the likes of Postecoglou and Rodgers, who were serial winners in the Scottish game, can help them forge a promotion push or at the very least finish nowhere near the drop.
Having another experienced body in the mix, should allow for a different voice and new ideas, which should help Morrison and his side out.
If they can agree a deal for the Parkhead man, it would be a very encouraging move given what he would bring to B71.
