Brayann Pereira contract examined after nightmare West Brom start

Brayann Pereira has had far from a dream start to life at West Bromwich Albion.

The Frenchman sealed a deadline day move to The Hawthorns to add cover in James Morrison's backline.

With the versatility to play at right-back or centre-half, his addition looked to make sense.

Having featured regularly in the Eredivisie for the past three seasons, he even brings experience.

That didn't necessarily show on debut when the 23-year-old was sent off after 34 minutes against Derby County.

Pereira has work to do to prove himself in B71 as we now assess what we know about his contract.

What do we know about Brayann Pereira's contract?

Bringing in a defender who can cover a number of roles looked to be an ideal piece of business.

That feeling was cemented when the deadline day signing immediately came in to start for the Albion.

It was a tough watch when he was shown two yellow cards within eight minutes of each other.

There will be hope that he can move on from that steep learning curve and become a useful asset in the Black Country.

That has to be the case after he completed a move on a deal that is set to run until the summer of 2030.

It is unclear how much he will be paid as part of that, but it is suggested that he was earning around £1,000-per-week at NEC Nijmegen.

That would equate to a yearly salary in the region of £52,000, something which will have likely taken a step up at The Hawthorns.

There is no guarantee of how much that could be, but with the average wage in the West Brom sitting at upwards of £10,000-a-week, it will likely be much higher than his prior £1,000 pay.

How much are West Brom paying per year for Pereira?

As part of his move, he put pen to paper on a four-year contract.

The deal cost the Baggies a reported fee of £1million, an amount which can be spread over the course of his terms.

His amortisation fee would therefore level out at around £250,000-per-year.

With wages included, he could end up costing upwards of £300,000 every year that he features at The Hawthorns.

That could prove to be a bargain if Pereira can find his feet in B71.

It won't be easy for the Frenchman after a really difficult start, but we will wait and see what he can do for Morrison and Co.
