West Brom should look to sign Crystal Palace gem Jeserun Rak-Sakyi this summer.

The Baggies are on the lookout for players that will make a difference for James Morrison's side.

The Selhurst Park youngster spent time on loan with Caykur Rizespor and Stoke City last season, and notched seven goals and one assist across 29 matches.

He made it clear that they are not willing to spend big amounts of just anybody and will be cautious.

Rak-Sakyi would fit exactly what Albion are looking for in a new recruit, as he has the attitude required to succeed at The Hawthorns.

What did Patel say about West Brom's transfer business?

The Black Country club have already confirmed the signings of Max O'Leary, Barney Stewart, Jimmy-Jay Morgan, Carter Pinnington and Matt Ingram.

However, Patel suggested that they are not done with their business, but they are looking for a very specific type of player to add to their squad.

In an open letter to Baggies supporters, he said: "Our core strategy remains the same as when I arrived.

"We aim to build a squad of dynamic, hard-working, and well-coached players with an emphasis on talent we believe will grow in their time with us.

Former manager has already told West Brom why they should sign Rak-Sakyi

Dean Holden, who was Charlton manager between 2022 and 2023 has already given interested clubs an insight into the player.

He believes that he is the best player that he has ever worked with and outlined his attributes that would make him such a successful addition.

Speaking on the I Had Trials Once podcast in November 2023, the 46-year-old said: “He’s getting some game time at the moment – phenomenal player.

“Right winger but left footed, balance like a skier when they try and knock him off the ball, he’s not one to do ten stepovers for the sake of it, he will make the right decision, he’s only young.

“He used to drive in a clapped out Punto, earning good money but not interested.

“His dad and brother own a barbers in Elephant & Castle, just a proper young player who wants to give everything.”

Those comments suggest that he would be perfect for the kind of player that Patel and Morrison want to sign to put their team in a better position to challenge the top end of the Championship.

The only question is whether Palace are ready to sanction another loan to the second tier or if they have higher expectations for the player and want to keep him around to break into their side.

There have not been links to the West Midlands club, but he should definitely be on their target list, given the criteria that they have for new incomings.

Whether anything happens remains to be seen, but they should absolutely be making an approach to see if a move would be possible.
