Toby Collyer's West Brom contract examined: Wages, duration and amortisation
Toby Collyer returned to West Bromwich Albion in the summer.
The 22-year-old spent an ill-fated six-month spell at The Hawthorns last season.
He joined on loan from Manchester United before making a return at the beginning of January.
Having made just two starts for the Baggies in that time, it was a move that made sense from his perspective.
Things haven't necessarily worked out since as he moved to Hull City and made just five further appearances.
West Brom went on to surprise everyone in the summer by bring Collyer back permanently, but what do we know about his contract?
What is Toby Collyer's West Brom wage?
It seems as if James Morrison took a liking to the midfielder before he was installed as head coach.
Previous boss Ryan Mason clearly didn't back him as a regular starter as his minutes were severely limited.
He has now been given a fresh chance to prove what he is all about in the Black Country, this time on a permanent basis.
The Baggies brought him back and tied him down to a four-year contract as part of that move.
It is reported that Collyer is earning around £7,000-per-week at The Hawthorns.
That represents a yearly salary in the region of £364,000 until his contract expires in the summer of 2030.
How much are West Brom paying for Collyer per year?
The advantage to the Englishman penning a four-year deal is that allows his cost to be spread across that period.
The initial fee paid to Manchester United is reported to be £3million.
That represents an amortisation payment of an estimated £750,000.
With that number on top of his £364,000 wage, the Albion will be facing a yearly payout of an estimated £1.1m.
West Brom will be hit with changes to that figure down the line should Collyer hit certain goals that will trigger add-ons.
The midfielder could end up costing £7.6m, but that will be factored in later down the line.
That would be a sizable figure with the current state of the B71 outfit, but will likely be based on themselves and the 22-year-old achieving big things across the course of his four-year deal.
It will certainly be interesting to see if he sparks any of these add-ons at The Hawthorns.
