West Bromwich Albion are keeping tabs on Brighton winger Tommy Watson.

There has already been plenty of incoming business at The Hawthorns this summer.

Barney Stewart and Jimmy-Jay Morgan have come in to add to the attacking conversation under James Morrison.

It doesn't appear that the Baggies are done there as they look to add to their forward line once more.

There have been a number of names linked already and now attention has turned to the south coast.

Watson could be available again this summer as the Seagulls look set to make a choice over his short-term future.

What Brighton want for Tommy Watson move

The 20-year-old completed a move to the AMEX last summer after a prearranged deal with Sunderland.

He signed off in style with the Mackems as he netted a last-gasp winner in the play-off final against Sheffield United.

Chris Wilder described it as a "fairytale stuff" and it was exactly that.

The same can't be said about his debut campaign with Brighton as he made just 10 appearances before being loaned out to Millwall in January.

After 12 games, no goals or assists and a failed play-off campaign, he is back with the Seagulls ahead of another potential exit.

A report from the Sunderland Echo on Saturday has mooted interest from West Brom as his next move looms.

Brighton are now weighing up their options, while Watson's camp want him to make a move where he will play consistently to help build rhythm and confidence in his game.

The only blow for the Baggies is that competition is said to be fierce as Leicester City, Hull, West Ham United and Derby County are also interested.

The Premier League outfit now have a decision to make over the wingers next steps this summer.

West Brom: James Morrison must prioritise adding missing piece in attack this summer

How would Mikey Johnston be impacted by Watson at West Brom?

There is a need for fresh wide options at The Hawthorns this summer, especially the departure of Jed Wallace.

Jayson Molumby and Isaac Price played on the flanks towards the end of last season which isn't totally ideal.

That wasn't helped by the absence of Mikey Johnston due to injury and the lack of a true back-up option.

He will return for the upcoming season, but if Watson comes in it would certainly make for an interesting situation.

Both play off the left flank typically and want to cut inside to their stronger right foot.

That could see them share minutes, which may not suit Brighton's hopes for the Englishman.

It will be interesting to see if a deal materialises and what that could mean for Johnston moving forward.
