Aune Heggebo is set to become West Brom's big signing this summer.

Heggebo, 23, is set to complete a £4.75million move to The Hawthorns from Norwegian side Brann.

The deal is set to become Brann's most expensive export, shattering the £2.1m they received for David Moller Wolfe in 2023.

West Brom have been desperate to bolster their forward line, which underperformed last season amid more injury woes to Daryl Dike and Josh Maja.

Heggebo spotted in West Brom training gear amid Johnston transfer collapse

The Baggies fanbase were given a scare when the deal for Mikey Johnston to move to Flamengo for £5m collapsed.

Johnston, 26, was expected to fly out to Brazil to complete the shock deal, but it has fallen through following backlash from supporters.

It had been feared by fans that the Heggebo deal may also now fall through, given the finances involved on the Baggies' end.

However, the striker seems to have put any worries for the fans to rest as he was spotted in Austria in West Brom's new training kit by Norwegian outlet BT.

Heggebo will join up with the rest of the Baggies squad at their pre-season training camp after completing the transfer.

Heggebo is a risk worth taking for the Baggies

Heggebo only has experience of playing in Norway, and the move to The Hawthorns represents a significant step up in quality.

However, the Norwegian can bring an entirely new dimension to West Brom's stagnant attack, and, if successful, can spearhead the Baggies' attack in the long term under Ryan Mason.

All eyes are now on the official announcement from Austria.
