Tony Brown has been mesmerised by the performances of West Brom loan duo Grady Diangana and Matheus Pereira this season.

Pereira, 23, scored his third goal of the campaign at The Hawthorns on Tuesday night as Albion came from behind to draw 2-2 against Barnsley and while Diangana, 21, was not in his best form against the Tykes, the on-loan West Ham winger has still been a delight to watch in the Black Country since his summer switch.

Speaking ahead of the match, Brown heaped praise on the two attacking players, who Slaven Bilic snapped up on temporary deals in the summer, and claimed that they are the type of player that opposing defences hate to deal with.

“It’s great to see Albion at the moment because of the way they are playing,” Bomber told BBC WM [14m 28s] on Tuesday.

“They’re a lot more direct nowadays and they go at teams from the start and they have players who can take people on.

“The two loan signings, I think, have been absolutely magnificent for us.

“Diangana and Pereira – they’re the people who really make this team going forward.

“They’re causing headaches for the opposition in every game they play.”

It was by no means a classic display by West Brom on Tuesday and while Pereira forced the own goal from his corner before scoring the equaliser with a well-executed header, it was hardly his finest 90 minutes in blue and white stripes.

Stats by WhoScored show that Pereira completed one dribble and two key passes against Barnsley – none of which were completed before the 65th minute.

The on-loan Brazilian was barely in the game until that point, but there is no doubt that he has been a major reason behind West Brom’s overall form in the opening 13 matches of this Championship season.
