Bilic confirms West Brom loanee will see out season at The Hawthorns
Slaven Bilic has confirmed that Grady Diangana will remain at West Brom for the rest of the season after an agreement was reached with West Ham.
Diangana, 21, is currently injured after being forced off the pitch in the opening minutes of the defeat to Stoke on Monday night.
Although he will not return to full fitness any time soon, Bilic has confirmed that it is not a long-term injury for the on-loan attacker, who could have been recalled by West Ham before the end of the month.
“We were doing everything we could to keep Grady, but finally we have done it. He is staying with us until the end of the season,” said Bilic, as quoted on West Brom’s official website.
“He got injured in the first minutes against Stoke but he is going to be back, hopefully very soon. It’s not going to be that soon but it’s not going to be that long. We are expecting that he will be back for the crucial stage of the season.”
Diangana has made 22 appearances in all competitions for West Brom this season, scoring five goals and supplying six assists in the process.
He is one of the most important players in Bilic’s squad and this is proven by the fact that Albion have failed to win in any of the six Championship games he’s missed since signing from West Ham.
Diangana needs to get back to full fitness as soon as possible because the Baggies have seen their lead in the automatic promotion spots cut down to just four points after failing to win in their last six league games.
However promotion cannot be sealed when the hopes are stacked on just one player.
Everyone in Bilic’s squad needs to up their game.
In other West Brom news, Albion are set to table a bid for this £9million-rated player.
