Club agree deal in principle to sign senior West Brom attacker, he jetted out yesterday – report

Besiktas have agreed a deal in principle to sign West Brom attacker Kamil Grosicki, according to beIN SPORTS Turkey.

The Turkish broadcaster claims that Grosicki, 32, has signed an agreement to join the Istanbul giants even though he only joined the Baggies in an £800,000 deal from Hull City in the January transfer window.

Grosicki uploaded images on his personal Instagram account yesterday (Saturday) which showed him on a plane and then in Istanbul.

Grosicki made just 14 appearances for West Brom after arriving in January but still managed to have a bit of an impact as he scored one goal and supplied three assists.

Although some of his performances were a bit sub-par, it is fair to say that Slaven Bilic got his worth from the player, who did play a role in helping the Baggies seal promotion back to the Premier League.

If Grosicki does end up joining Besiktas then we’re thankful that he opted to join us when he did and help us when we needed that extra body in the attack.

We’ve always been a bit wary of reports from Turkey because over the last few months we’ve seen some fair questionable stories about Fenerbahce wanting Slaven Bilic and Vedat Muriqi being listed as a top target for the Baggies.

It is a fact that Grosicki is Istanbul so it remains to be seen whether he’s there for business or pleasure.

However, the Polish winger is in the final year of his contract at The Hawthorns and a deal to sell him on this summer does kind of make sense.

In other West Brom news, Albion chiefs have held talks over signing this Croatia international who Bilic has previously managed.
