West Brom welcome Harrogate Town to the Hawthorns on Wednesday as they start their Carabao Cup campaign this season.
The Baggies would still have had an interest in the action on Tuesday night with a number of their youngsters featuring at their loan clubs.
Alex Palmer and Callum Morton at Lincoln plus Finn Azaz and Josh Griffiths at Cheltenham all featured for their sides.
Starting with Lincoln, Michael Appleton’s side cruised to a 5-0 victory against Bradford to set up a third-round tie with Liverpool.
Morton finished off the rout with his first goal for the Imps during injury time, with Palmer adding another clean sheet to his record in West Yorkshire.
Moving south, and Cheltenham crashed out of the competition with a 3-1 defeat against Championship Millwall, although they put up a great fight.
Azaz still took his opportunity though, scoring a great strike from the edge of the box to give his side a consolation goal and catch the eye on the big stage.
Although there were differing results for the two sides, West Brom will have been delighted with the outcome for their youngsters.
All four are getting valuable minutes in senior football, rather than being kept with the under-23s and only getting chances in the EFL Trophy.
Now it is time for the Baggies to do their part on Wednesday, and hopefully, easily sweep aside League Two Harrogate Town convincingly to seal their passage to the next round alongside Palmer and Morton.
