West Brom manager Slaven Bilic is predicted to make wholesale changes to the team he named to start against Brentford when Chelsea arrive at The Hawthorns on Saturday.
Albion were knocked out of the Carabao Cup on penalties on Tuesday night after Bilic made 11 changes from the team that was beaten 5-2 at Everton.
He is likely to revert to a similar starting line-up that lost at Goodison Park but the key omission is Kieran Gibbs, who is serving a three-match bam after being sent off on Merseyside.
Sam Johnstone is predicted to return in goals behind a back-three of Semi Ajayi, Kyle Bartley and Dara O’Shea. Branislav Ivanovic made his debut against Brentford but is unlikely to be thrown straight into playing two matches in a week after only recently arriving at West Brom.
Darnell Furlong is predicted to start as the right-sided wing-back with Conor Townsend the only player to retain his spot in the side due to Gibbs’ suspension on the left.
Romaine Sawyers and Jake Livermore are expected to start as the two central midfielders with Conor Gallagher ineligible to play against his parent club Chelsea.
Albion’s attack is probably going to be unchanged from the opening two Premier League matches with Mateus Pereira and Grady Diangana playing in support of Callum Robinson.
Hal Robson-Kanu scored twice against Brentford and also netted a stunner versus Harrogate last week but we feel that Bilic will stick with his three summer signings in the attack.
In other West Brom news, the club has missed out on another striker target.
