‘Needs the bin’, ‘Passenger’ – Many West Brom fans blast 29y/o’s performance v Newcastle
Some West Brom fans have blasted Romaine Sawyers’ performance against Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon.
The Baggies lost 2-1 to the Magpies after Dwight Gayle scored a late header against his former club.
After conceding just 21 seconds into the first half, Albion got back into the game through Darnell Furlong before Gayle’s header undid the Baggies’ positive work.

Sawyers started the game after impressing in recent weeks but some fans really weren’t impressed with the 29-year-old on Saturday afternoon.
Sawyers’ passing against Newcastle left a lot to be desired as he frequently gave away possession needlessly in the midfield.
It isn’t fair to blame Albion’s loss on Sawyers’ performance but he certainly didn’t help as his side lost again in the Premier League.

He also failed to cover his defence as they resisted pressure from Newcastle’s attack and he was a weak link in Slaven Bilic’s side.
A few fans criticised Sawyers’ lack of forward passes against the Magpies as he filed to find his teammates who were in decent attacking positions ahead of him.
Here is how some West Brom fans reacted to Sawyers’ performance.

Will Sawyers’ performance against Newcastle see him dropped for Albion’s next game against Manchester City? Only Bilic knows as he faces a huge week as Baggies boss.
