West Brom Super Fans thrilled by Conor Townsend against Aston Villa
This is part of a regular series from our panel of West Brom Super Fans. Each week, our Super Fans will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around The Hawthorns.
West Brom delighted fans by staying unbeaten against Wolves but the team’s performance left a lot to be desired on Monday night.
Albion performed brilliantly at times in April but our form has dipped of late, and Wolves could easily have won with 20 shots to our ten.
There were some good individual performances however, with Conor Townsend and Mbaye Diagne the pick for our Super Fans.
The pair teamed up really well for Albion’s equaliser – Townsend in particular produced a peach of a cross.
Many of the suggestions below discuss Townsend’s improvement during his spell at The Hawthorns, and he has proved to be a bargain since signing for £750,000 [Express & Star] in 2018.
Here is what our Super Fans had to say on the draw with Wolves.

Townsend’s form means he is surely guaranteed to start next season, and in fact our whole defence seems settled.
That will give us a good platform to build a promotion-winning team but Sam Allardyce could have a lot of work to do this summer, if he stays.
The futures of Matheus Pereira and Sam Johnstone are uncertain while four of our regular starters are only on loan.
We could have to rebuild our entire midfield and possibly the wide positions too.
Albion have four games left this term though so the likes of Callum Robinson and Matt Phillips have a chance to stake their claim for a regular role next season, just as Townsend has done.
Relegation is on the cards but it will be interesting to see who still shows 100% effort and who lets their heads drop – that will say a lot about their character and Big Sam will likely be taking note.
In other West Brom news, Joseph Masi has dropped a transfer hint on a West Brom loan star.
