Jurgen Klopp fumes at officials after Conor Gallagher fouled in West Brom v Liverpool
Jurgen Klopp was furious after Conor Gallagher was fouled on the stroke of half-time during the clash between West Brom and Liverpool on Sunday evening.
The Albion loanee went down injured just before the end of the first half at The Hawthorns after a challenge and referee Mike Dean blew his whistle for a foul.
West Brom tried to take a quick free-kick but they were denied the chance as commentator Ian Dennis relayed on BBC Radio 5 Live’s coverage of the game.
“That will be a free kick that West Brom wanted to take quickly as Jurgen Klopp complains in the direction of the match official that he had spotted that Gallagher was down,” he said.
Ex-England goalkeeper Rob Green was alongside Dennis and said, “It’s a good decision from Gallagher and Jurgen Klopp is going absolutely berserk in the technical area because it was a really poor free-kick to take quickly.
“It’s a poor decision to try and break early, I’ve no idea why it’s one against three at the back, Gallagher did the right thing just trying to kill it until half-time, just take a knee for a moment.”
“It’s poor old Andrew Madley [fourth official] who has to try and placate the Liverpool manager,” Dennis added.

Klopp angry on the sidelines at The Hawthorns? Been there, done that.
There’s been a strange hostility between Klopp and the Albion for a few years, with the German manager becoming a figure of ridicule for supporters after his exchanges with us.
First there was the time at Anfield in 2015 when he led his team side by side, holding hands, to the home fans and celebrated after a 2-2 draw.
The biggest controversy came in April 2018 after another 2-2 draw, this time at The Hawthorns, when Albion battled back from 2-0 down to level the game late on.
Klopp came out afterwards and aimed a “Championship” jibe at the recently relegated side managed by Darren Moore, calling the comeback “useless” and hitting out at the state of the pitch. [Mirror]
He was at it again on Sunday, though not directly aimed at Albion.
There seems to be something about the place that causes the usually jovial Klopp to explode with anger.
