West Brom want out-of-contract Sheffield United defender Kean Bryan
Valerien Ismael wants to bring English defender Kean Bryan to West Brom, according to The Sun.
The 24-year-old is a free agent following the expiration of his Sheffield United contract, and has interests from a number of clubs.
Ismael is keen on bolstering his defence this summer ahead of West Brom’s bid to secure an instant return to the Premier League, and signing the versatile Bryan on a free appeals to him.
The Manchester City academy graduate has experience playing in the Premier League and Championship, and we could do with that quality.
Bryan is looking to prove himself after not making his debut league appearance for the Blades until November 2020, and West Brom could be handing him that chance.
He scored his only goal for the club in the 2-1 Premier League win over Manchester United in January, and a chance to return immediately to the top-flight after getting relegated with Sheffield Utd surely appeals.
While West Brom have promised Ismael some top signings and money realised from the sales of players [The Telegraph], the Frenchman is smart enough to know that free signings would come in handy.
Bryan can play as a centre-back or in midfield in a box-to-box role.
His vision, ability on the ball, long-range shots and expertise at converting penalty kicks make up his skillset, and we need them all next season.
The Baggies will do well to pip other interested clubs to his signature.
