West Brom offered numerous exciting players this summer

West Brom were offered numerous exciting players during the summer transfer window, according to Joseph Chapman.

The Baggies relied on loan moves and free agents to bolster their squad for the gruelling Championship campaign.

Despite Matheus Pereira sealing his exit to Al-Hilal, none of the money was reinvested into incomings at The Hawthorns.

Writing for the Birmingham Mail, Chapman shared the news that could leave some fans questioning his decision.

“The Frenchman is very choosy about the sort of player he wishes to work with,” he wrote.

“Players were offered up to him throughout the window, names that might’ve got the fans excited in some instances even, but they didn’t fit the manager’s process. So that was the end of it.”

Calm.

Despite squad depth clearly being an issue at times during the start of the season, Ismael didn’t panic and rush into any deals.

The Frenchman was wanting to make sure that potential incomings were ready to give him everything in this relentless style.

Late window recruits Jayson Molumby and Jordan Hugill clearly give him that, and this smart way of thinking already leaves us in a better position than we were when signing the likes of Lee Peltier.

Ismael is prepared to do whatever it takes to pick up three points in every game and ultimately win promotion, and sometimes exciting players don’t deliver that when it gets tough.

Looking at the squad, the Baggies should be more than happy with what they have got until January at the earliest.
