Jamie Mackie can't believe Darnell Furlong didn't score for West Brom v Derby

West Brom yet again struggled to find the back of the net in their clash with Derby this evening at The Hawthorns.

Darnell Furlong was one of the dangermen down the right-hand side and missed numerous chances himself.

Jamie Mackie labelled his efforts as weak in the Championship, as he blazed one of his chances over the bar with the goalkeeper nowhere in sight.

Speaking live on Sky Sports watching the game, Mackie blasted Furlong for his effort on goal despite impressing elsewhere.

“Roos comes out and spreads himself well,” he said.

“It comes out to Darnell Furlong, and he’s just leaning back and just scoops it over the bar. It was a weak finish in the end.”

How?

We honestly can’t believe why it has become so hard for the Baggies to find the back of the net all of a sudden.

Chances are still coming so frequently in games, but translating them into goals appears to have become impossible.

It was the same against Millwall, but it got even worst this evening as Grady Diangana himself missed numerous sitters before this one.

With Kelle Roos floored, Furlong just had to hit the target and beat a couple of defenders with his strike but smashed it into the crowd.

That sums it up, and the chances need to start being converted or we could find ourselves adrift in a couple of weeks – that can’t happen.
